Duo Diorama
February 2, 2020: Duo diorama
Duo Diorama is comprised of Chinese violinist MingHuan Xu and Canadian pianist Winston Choi. They are compelling and versatile artists who perform in an eclectic mix of musical styles, from the great standard works to the avant-garde. It is a partnership with a fresh and powerful approach to music for violin and piano.
In 2006 they gave their successful New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, as winners of Artists International Presentations’ “Special Chamber Music Award.” A feature broadcast on the debut was covered by Voice of America, a weekly television program viewed by millions of people in Asia. They were also named Artists-in-Residence for the Chinese Fine Arts Society's 2011-2012 season.
For this concert they will be joined by Ascension’s Emily Marlow in a trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano. A husband and wife team, the duo makes their home in Chicago, with their twins Lillian and Ethan.
March 22, 2020: Chicago horn consort
With a roster boasting some of the most active musicians in the Chicago area, the Chicago Horn Consort is the city's only all-professional horn choir. Since 2008 the CHC has been performing a year-round calendar of events at libraries, schools, concert venues and churches.
Recent notable appearances include "Picasso on the Plaza" at the Daley Center and the “Tribute to Dale Clevenger Appreciation Concert” with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Many concerts in the region involve CHC members, including the Chicago Symphony, the Lyric Opera, the Elgin Symphony, Lake Forest Symphony, Chicago Sinfonietta, Ars Viva! Symphony, Grant Park Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, “Star Wars In Concert,” Barry Manilow, Mannheim Steamroller, Josh Groban, Celtic Woman, Andrea Bocelli, and shows on any stage in the theatre district and surrounding areas.
Chicago Horn Consort
